Today, President Trump demonstrated once again that he is a creature utterly devoid of empathy and even basic social skills.
As usual, Children were invited to the White House to participate in the annual Easter Egg Roll. Unfortunately for them, before they could have their fun they were subjected to one of Trump’s trademark rambling speeches.
Bizarrely, the president chose to rant about the economy to a group of children, before pivoting to talking about the military and bragging about how strong and well-funded it is. The former, children neither understand nor care about and the latter is more likely to scare than excite them.
Apparently, Trump can’t resist the urge to bloviate and stroke his ego even when addressing a group of small children. It’s pathetic, petty behavior from a man who seems incapable of suppressing his worse instincts. It’s reminiscent of the time he gave his disgusting speech to the Boy Scouts in which he attacked Hillary Clinton and the “fake news media.”
During today’s speech, Trump also made some weird, inane comments about the White House, which he has referred to as a “dump” in the past.
“…this incredible house or building or whatever you want to call it because there is no name for it, it is special. We keep it in tip-top shape, we call it sometimes tippy-top shape, and it’s a great, great place,” the president said.
